The Met One 014A has been the backbone of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)
for decades. B
earings and Reed Switches are the rare cause of failure for these bomb-proof sensors. Each of these 014A units came out of the field about 7 years ago and have been in storage since then. They are being sold as is and as a lot of 33. A number of replacement parts will be included in the sale. Each will include an 11 foot mil-spec cable.
I have or will have another listing for the wind direction complement, the Met One 024.
Overview
The 014A, manufactured by Met One, is a three-cup anemometer that monitors wind speed for the range of 0 to 45 m/s with a threshold of 0.45 m/s. You connect the 014A directly to a Campbell Scientific data logger, which measures the anemometer's pulse signal and converts the signal to engineering units (mph, m/s, knots).

The 014A Wind Speed Sensor are accurate, durable and economical instruments, suitable for a wide range of wind study applications. They are designed for long term unattended operation in most environments
The sensors use a quick-connect sensor cable which may extend hundreds of feet without
affecting measurement performance. The potentiometer meets stringent military specifications for sand, dust, salt spray and fungus resistance.
